DOUBLE PAGE INITIAL PLANNING

When initially planning my double page spread I made some first idea drawn drafts as seen below; I made two using different layout styles.

Above is my first idea draft but I thought that the writing was a bit too 'free' and needed some sort of organised format. Also, I chose to not have the band name so large as this is not often seen in magazines, normally a tagline or quote is larger. I then went on to develop my plan into the draft below;

The above layout double page draft is modified from the first one as it has a banner for writing down the side and as large quote; which is often used as a conventional aspect of magazine double page spreads, for example in Q magazine this way is used often. I kept the image and bottom banner the same and the 'Rocka in the top left hand corner as these are house features which appear on everypage.
