Above is my final college magazine front cover and my final draft of my contents page.
Evaluation;
Overall, I am reasonably happy with the outcome of my front cover and contents page, although if I had more time I'd prefare to retake a photo which would be better quality. And also, looking back I wish I'd have put more effort into my 'masthead' on the front cover so that it looked more interesting and striking. think that i've kept to my house theme well and used many of the magazine conventions. On the whole my magazine probably doesn't appeal to it's target audience of 16-19 year olds as much as it could, but in future I could carry out research with my target audience to see reactions to my piece before submitting it as my final product.
For the language I have used a masthead title for my magazine which would appeal to the audience as it's an abbreviated term for 'Wyke Sixth Form' - W6F. This gives it a 'younger' feel.
The institution is the fact that this is a college magazine.
The ideology of my magazine is that it would be providing information to college attenders and would include important information alongside more 'casual' news stories from the college.
The target audience was students aged 16-19 at the designated college, (wyke).
I have represented it in a way which would attract the students to want to read it and get more copies in future.

Well done Aimee - this is only a couple of drafts away from looking professional.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple of things that would help you to improve your work for your next project:
- Don't leave too much empty space on your cover - add more text or re-arrange the layout.
- Always use AS MUCH media terminology as you can (both during your research analyses and your evaluation) - it gets you loads of marks!
Keep up the good work in order to achieve an even better grade by the end of the year :-)
